Thanks Tim, Frank and Bob,

@ Tim,

Welcome at my build log  :D

Take a seat and enjoy.

And thanks for the word impressive  :D  :D  :D  :D

@ Frank,

You are one of the persons that let me re-do the crow's feet.

Thanks for that !!!!!!!

@ Bob,

It's not that difficult and I enjoy it to doing it.

It was my first attempt ( forget the wrong one please ) and I like it !!!!The only thing that I find difficult was the tension on the stay.

To little ? to much ?

Popeye gives at Mobbsie's Aggy a clear answer on that and that is what I follow.....

Because it is Kings day tomorrow ( birthday of our King Willem Alexander ) I thought by myself....ok,

I'm the king of the ratlines, Crow's feet and popcorn machine, why I give myself not a present  :D  :D

So here you are.....A chop saw ! :D  :D  :D  :D  :D

Let the wood coming !!!!!!!

And not only that, I have also do a little rigging.

I have to see in the book what it calls

There we go : On the bowsprit we have....

Jib stay

Fore topgallant stay

Flying jib stay

Fore royal stay

I'm not using that chop saw for the rigging but for the Aggy when I go further on her with the second planking.

Aaaahhh new toy!!! Is that a Proxxon Sjors? I would love to hear your comments on it.

And your rigging is coming along so very nice. Good job on those crows feet! They are a pita.

:)

There aren't but two options: do it FAST, or do it RIGHT.

Current Project Build Log: Soleil Royal in 1/72. Kit by Artesania Latina.

Last finished projectsRoyal Ship Vasa 1628; French Vessel Royal Louis 1780. 1/90 Scale by Mamoli. 120 Cannons

Future projects already in my stash: Panart: San Felipe 1/75; OcCre: Santísima Trinidad 1/90;

Sjors,

A compound miter is a miter in two planes; both a bevel and a miter. Think of the miter needed to install crown molding or the miter you need on your planking at the stem. You need an angle to match where the plank meets the stem but there is a second angle running towards the inner portion of the ship. Am I explaining this ok? I can see it in my head but never had to describe one.

Here is a picture of one, maybe that will help.

@ Sam,

I understand it now and yes, I can do that.....

And no, I don't go to the dark side......yet.

After the two beasts I have one kit that I really want to do and maybe then.....I take a peek to the other side.

Hi Sjors

That is some nice saw you have, was it your birthday as well :D :D :D :D.

But joking apart,  that is a very nice model you have , and if you don't mind me saying a master model builder is building her.

Very very nice workmanship.

Denis.
