HMS PEGASUS by giampieroricci - Scale 1:36 - Swan-Class Sloop from plans by David Antscherl & Greg Herbert

I placed a few more frames. In this type of carpentry to be able to set up a frame it takes a lot of time!
To give the structure more solidity, I thought of using some steel nails placed transversely at the base of the frames:

Lovely progress. I'd be hesitant to use steel or any ferrous metal in a model as it may corrode. Brass rod might be a better idea.

Sweet work G. You're doing a great job keeping all those sweep and port sills in alignment. I thought of using brass pins to transfix the frames to the keel but with the keelson and temporary blocking they were amazingly rigid during fairing. As well if you plan on installing the fillers between the lower frames this creates additional rigidity.

Wonderful work, doesn't appear to need much fairing at all! I see you decided to do the hawse holes at a later point. After ruining a few hawse pieces I opted to cut them in later as well.

I note on my 15 year old Swan class model I've had no gaps appear between the filling pieces between the floors of the frames. Perhaps that's because it's in a case in a temperature controlled environment. I did have gaps appear in my current Speedwell model but I think that's because she's been moved frequently to areas of different temperature and humidity.

Beautiful work and that's going to be large and impressive model when done.

It's a treat for me to see the ship built at this scale. The stern geometry looks great!

The measures all add up.
I just have to make a few small adjustments.
I was particularly afraid of this part of the construction, which was not at all simple!

Certainly one of the more tricky parts of construction. Looking good, but make sure you protect those protruding timbers. It's far too easy to catch and snap them off. Don't ask!

I hope others take note that you have tenoned your transoms and filler pieces to fit to the fashion piece and last cant frame. Incredible!
