Doris,

I am so lucky to have found your work, again, here at MSW. I just spent the most wonderful evening looking through your Royal Caroline log.

I remember discovering your absolutely ridiculously amazing, almost unbelievably beautiful HMS Victory, and your Sovereign of the Seas. I don't remember where, but I have never forgotten it. AND now I (we) discover that you also love model cars, and working on real cars.

You are certainly one of the Wonders of the World. Your work leaves many of us lacking the vocabulary with which to properly articulate and, acknowledge your incredible artistry. What a gift....You are certainly a living legend. Thank you for sharing your work in such detail.

Regards,

Michael

Hello dear friends,
Thank you very much for your kind words, your feedback and praise is a great honour for me! I appreciate your support a lot.
Well, nobody is perfect, I have also various mistakes on my models, but the main thing is, that I love this hobby a lot and enjoy making models. And of course I feel happy sharing this pleasure with you all.

Some details on RC were improved - for example gratings - there was a mistake with correct orientation, so I modified the gratings using strips of foil imitating wood. And another change -  had to shift the upper part of rudder and its wooden pole forward (about 7mm) to place there an iron ring for a tackle. The rudder is still fully functional. B)

I also finished some blocks (they are made of wood on CNC lathe) and placed them on decks according to plans. In the past I made paper blocks but there were problems with rigging tension - some blocks did not hold this tension and became distorted.

Doris,

That is breathtaking. Even where you correct and repair the results are clean and crisp. I remain jealous of your students. :)

Doris,

Your models are absolutely beautiful! Such attention to detail. I could spend ages looking at them, noting all the nice touches.

I think if you had lived in the days of the craftsmen who built the dockyard models we so admire today, they would have asked you to be one of them – or perhaps their boss! :)

As always, stunningly beautiful.  I've gone back over the log many times just look and be reminded of what can be done.

Hello dear friends,

I am pleased, you like my work. Thank you a lot, your words are much appreciated.

Another part of Royal Caroline is completed, I have also improved some details at down part of the columns - they are shorter and have better shape. During next weeks I am going to make guns and other crew members.

Best regards and enjoy the pics

Dear friends,

thank you very much for your compliments and kind words, I appreciate them a lot.

Today I took a video to show you the tutorial, how I make the belaying pins. All is handmade, cause I have not any special tools.

The pins are solid enough, even if they are made of two parts.

And what's new on RC.....
I have finished spiral staircase - it is made of paper and covered with foils to imitate wooden look.

Hello Doris,

Thank you very much for the tutorial video, it's much appreciated.  Let's see - - - about 10 minutes for each - - - I have to make a gezillion for my VOC ship - - - hmmm, that'll keep me occupied into my next life ;)   Fortunately, there are are no belayingpins on the submarine  :)  Your spiral staircase looks wonderful!

Cheers,

Piet, The Flying Dutchman.

Doris, I am completely in awe of your work.  I just don't know what to say, or where to begin.  Almost unreal.
