Hello Doug, indeed a magnificent build. Very impressive build log and beautiful work(too bad so many pictures got lost). I would sure like to see you build the Amati Bounty as I myself have that one and would be happy to follow you as the "Master"

Looks good to me, I really don't care too much for these strips and the two piece ones are a further mind scrambler, but I guess this versus the alternative of cutting our own gun ports.......let the scrambling begin!!

Hi Mike, I hate to be a pain, but you say you put the tape on then measure each plate and mark with a pencil then come along and score each one to separate them. Does this mean you are cutting right through the copper tape? I apologize, I am a bit of a slow learner at times

That's an interesting way of copper plating, I will be watching closely. Quite a time saver doing it your way.

Hey Buddy, how are you doing? I have been working on my Mayflower this past while and am about to update on that soon. Now that I have no Admiral house work gets in the way too !! Since last post I have added three more coats of poly. I don't know how you do it with so many builds on the go I know my hands are full with two. Thanks so much for the concern Mike, I hope to resolve this problem soon. Take care

Great work so far, very interesting using styrofoam to form your dinghy. That will be much easier to remove versus a block of wood

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
