  1. Looks beautiful! You have taken every bit, piece and part to perfection and it shows in the final display. Very inspiring!
  2. Very interesting to watch this build, my machining skills are "0". You do great work!
  3. You do very good work! We all improve with experience... I know it's too late now but when I have done barrels/ kegs, I simply use a wide tipped black felt marker and carefully and gently drag across the high points of the bands. That looks just fine to me anyways. Enjoying watching your build! John.
  4. Thanks Arthur... I've been watching your "Philly Gun Boat" build, nice! I have an old MS solid hull kit from the 50's that I bought on Ebay for $15. There are some missing parts and someone began the model somewhere along the line. I plan on just doing a generic frigate half hull mounted on a nice chunk of wood. In the meantime I'll decide what to build next. There's so many I like though!
  5. FINISHED....well except for some oars. Has been a fun little model. I did go my own way with some aspects, mostly in the paint, leveling out the floor boards and dropping the platforms a bit. Thanks for all the comments and likes, I shall return!
  6. Thanks for the generous comments...Mike, I wrestled with the question of where to position the horse/traveler and tiller for a while. The instructions placed the combo as they are and I did look for the proper arrangement. If I was the sailor who had to operate the boat, I would have the horse over the tiller. There is plenty of discussion concerning this placement but I ultimately went with the kit suggested arrangement.
