  1. My experience with inkjet and transparency are only bad. For that reason, and double sided printing amongst others I got a second hand laserjet 15 years ago
  2. George, That's kilometers for him ... or you must be refering to the nautical distance he's jet to go ... he'll be around for a long time to come!
  3. Marvelous work, Mark ... I presume your building bud showed you you did a good job, and he wanted it to be perfect ... as it is now!!! I like those tidbits of information on the differences in the rudders ... As the American's got aid from the French - including ships - I would have expected the ships build would use the French method to 'secure' a rudder ... ah well .. in the end we all stick to our roots I presume ... Cheers
  4. Steven, Nice scale to work on ... that's some fiddly bits you are producing ... The rack idea for the lower oars is a good one. I have come across a build of a bi- or trireme which was made to row ... can't recall if it's on MSW or on youtube. I'll have a search ... maybe that gives a possible solution Cheers
  5. Steven, What is so different about the upper to continue just with them ... do you want to keep them as equal as possible ... I wouldn't change the way you make between upper and lower, you might see the difference with the naked eye ... As suggestion .. you could make the handle, loom, and body first - have the body extend the length of the blade - and attach the blade in two pieces to the body, after wich you only need to sand the blade 'flush' or in the required form Cheers
  6. Druxey, You make it seem like a walk in he park ... to be honest, I can't see why that particular batten should be rejected ... maybe it's my eyesight ... Cheers
  7. Hmmm, now you've shed a light on the dark recesses of the Dutch language ... (sigh) ... it's not as Double Dutch as most think it is ...
  8. Nice bottom ( ;-) ), Håkan ... I would say such a big sucker is not a bad utensil ... at least it won't take ages to get the smell out too Cheers
  9. Kees, Don't forget colours on screen are not always comparable ... to often they differ on screen from reality, even between different screens you will notice a slight, or large, 'discolouration' ... Having said that, you need to do what you feel is closest to your hart ... Cheers
  10. It might trun out into a knighthood ... Very well done Piet, I like the colour scheme .. a checkerboard would be far to small on those hats .. Cheers
  11. Have a safe and sound move, Danny. Looking forward to your updates on the cross-section ...
  12. Then one wonders why you left your house and workshop in the first place ... Wouldn't it have been easier to stay put ...??? CHeers
  13. Looks rather good, JesseLee .. don't you think ... better slow, than not at all I do hope you'll be feeling better (acceptable) soon, so you can enjoy your days ...you'ren in my thoughts ...
  14. Congratulations, Jim, and to the misses. Getting a man cave is certainly important with the hobby ... hope it will be smooth sailing till it's ready Cheers
  15. You'll be needing time ... a precious commodity, Jim ... moving will be a drainage on your reserves aswell ... Hope all will go smoothly ... you'll be staying in Bristol ...? Cheers
  16. Looks astonishingly like the real deal, Clare ... You reckon ... somehow, I can't imagine you doin' that ... Cheers
  17. Why Piet ... some simple scroll work ... quite ... it may look simple, my friend, but it certainly is not creating it ... especially with an eleven blade like you do ... Marvelous !!! Cheers
  18. Jack, I know you love Ice Yachts, but you did her proud, she turned out to be a pretty little lady ... great work (Although I'll be using the stuff from Alba) Sláinte mhaith!
  19. Druxey, Again an unexpected solution, with a marvelous result. The boards which are not supported by a frame would be wobbly - as far as I can see - as they miss the support at the sides, or is ther another support, or fixture between the boards ...?
