Thanks Mike! I ordered it from a local carpenter.. actually my dad's friend, a church member.. he's quite famous in our area, and provides reasonable price.. the only bad thing is it was too slow.. I've cleaned spider webs off my ship thrice waiting the case to arrive Well, I plan to start it right next month since I'm still single and always free at home Currently planning the color theme of my Unicorn, and some modification to be done. Also, I've started buying better tools.. gonna make myself a DIY lathe and drill press stand to cut cost Can't wait to START!!!

Thanks for all the comments! Finally, 1 month plus after ordering.. my display case had finally arrived.. It was really slow, but since it looks nice.. I've decided not to complain them.. Also, I've uploaded my ship's photos to the gallery Here's how it looks now in my living room! Anyway, my next model is now at my home!! Actually a month ago.. One quick peek Last but not least.. Thanks all for helping and encouraging me through the whole process!! It has been very precious!! :)

Hi Ron, I'm planning to make on DIY lathe too! Can I know what is the maximum RPM of your power tool? I put the Proxxon lathe as a reference, and I've learned that its max RPM is 5000.. Anyway, SKIL hand drill which is in my buying list has max rpm at only 3000.. Do you think it's fast enough?

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
