  1. great looking ship Jens........nice progress lots of folks here on the site have made their own dead eyes.......ans many more than that have made their own blocks. looked to me that you did a really nice job.......no need to hide or mask but, the metal coating made them look really cool. your doing a superb job!
  2. thanks for the well wishes........we are very much on the mend. I did manage to do a little more sanding, but that's about it.......darned unsettled weather! I heard we're going to get a snow storm over the weekend........I think they're full of it........but the weather here has been a bit off. hardly any snow all winter long. so, things are getting back to normal
  3. as I browse through these pages, looking for ideas........your perhaps the first name that comes to mind. super work on the carvings.......enjoyed the process you took to make them.
  4. I have a couple that the admiral has been ribbing me about.........the Lindberg Jolly Rogers that she picked out two years ago.........the Revell Santa Maria that she got me this past Christmas........as well as the Sergal Thermopylae that she got me. I have not touched these kits at all {except to drool over}. I will bide my time and get these past builds out of the way...hence the reason why so many are on the table at one time. a little here and a little there will bring them closer towards completion. I'm also feeling much better than I was a few days ago.........my household was sick......I was the last to fall. I'm thankful that it wasn't what they had, or I would have been in a worse state. they are here Sam......you may have to go back a few pages in the build forums, but they are here.
  5. shhhhhhhhhhhhh!*Sjors* the admiral will hear you........I just got her calmed down it's not all that bad Sam........I'm never at a loss for something to do I set them up like this, because I have more stuff coming in the post. if things works out like I think they're shaping up, I may be changing the roster a bit thanks to you all for checking in.........soon......I promise thanks Pat.......truth be told, I can only work on one at a time. but I have been known to toggle a bit
  6. just so awesome Daniel! you deserve every accolade given.......there is so much that you've put into her. not just a model, it's history
  7. I get the same thing sometimes........especially last summer where I did nothing at all. she thought I was sick. rather than have her go to the southern isles with the thermometer.......I decided I'd better get moving and show some improvement. it happens to every one at some point or another....all it usually takes is a trigger of sorts.......you forgot to glue something.......or an idea pops into your head. I'll look forward to the day you resume
  8. thanks George and Patrick....and all who hit the like button. took the day off today....admiral and son are sick. told her I was going to work.......but then she gave me a death threat..........I guess there was no argument there. I did some sanding a cut the new deck platform for her.......cemented it on. I did some more sanding later on........but it would be nice if I was out in the garage with her. it's a bit unsettled 'round here......so I'm not going to be doing any painting........that is, unless I go down in the cellar. I've been having bad luck down there lately. I'll be able to get the hull prepped though.....it's a step in the right direction. thanks for looking in gents!
  9. I did go further.....dummy me forgot them in the camera. when I got back, pieces od scrap wood was cemented along the other side of the bow. after making the other extension piece, they were cemented to the hull. again......that little bow jig I made, was a big help. the bulkhead wall was cemented in place next. a second deck beam was cemented in place as well.........I will put in one more. a pair of extensions were made for the bow addition....they were added to the build trying the deck platform I already cut for it is too small. that's what I get for measuring before the bow extensions were in place........it widened the hull. I cut another one.......this time using 1/16 flat stock, and cemented it in place. now......to fill the voids and sand 'er smooth.....and correct the other little imperfections as well
  10. hmmmmmmmm, no pressure ok...........I hear you! I'll get 'er back on the table somehow. I'll do something, but this is where I'm at at the moment. thanks Nenad
  11. almost done with my work week at Wally Greg. as for Titanic....besides the ill fitting decks, I have a few other issues to iron out. there are four hulls on the tables at the moment.......trying to squeeze a little bit on each one. I hope to be bringing her back out soon
  12. if you bring the Vic with you.........your gonna impress folks to be sure! very nice update !
  13. take a look at a burgundy color......you might like that. the sun and weather can do things to paint as well.......I did notice a difference to the color in different areas of the picture darn nice looking props to me........I still need to order some props. Piet can make them too........perhaps I'll try my hand at it nice work!
  14. I like to do it too.........a while ago I had put the Holiday boats together fora progress report. I think it's due again your fleet is growing.........amazing how small the mystic is compared to the others. I guess that's what you get for skimping on materials Majellan is looking great.....I think you may end up elongating the deck pillars though.......I don't think you can shrink the structures down any more than they are. I really like that futuristic design
  15. I'm working on the Academy 1:400 kit.........the TRMA has been a godsend for info. the minicraft kit seems to be their most popular kit.....perhaps they have a few tips for you
