    Wow... I didn't realize it was a complex of buildings. Is that going to fit into the car as it certainly won't fit on his motorcycle.

    Thanks for the explanation, Anthony. I've seen some models where the plates looked like iron your explanation helped. I hope you get a good day or two for drilling.

    I do like the way this is shaping up, Denis. The portholes in the bow area, and the prop/rudder. Her lines look good to my eye. I'm enjoying watching where you take her.

    Just incredible, Anthony. I can see why you'd want to go with removable spikes. Will you be blackening the plates or leaving them copper?

    I don't know how you're getting the hours in, but looking at what you've accomplished, you obviously are. And very well organized, too.

    They may be right about about the crew on the gundeck doing this as imagine the weather decks would be a bit hectic and crowded when maneuvering. Many ships have the braces coming into the gundeck via fairleads/sheaves in the hull. The questioning point is the pin in the skid beam. Unless it was felt that this would be one of the last sails to be re-braced and not much strain... ???

    I've used the Min-Wax brand of stains from the local DIY/Hardware type store. As Ken said, don't get the gloss.. go for the matte or worst case.. satin and then flatten it.

    Walt, Go for the mockup. I can't help with drawings... but if there's any question in your mind, do a mockup. I'm learning that lesson the hard way.

    That is one barge full of great craftsmanship and artistry, Siggi. I'm not sure the Captain will see it as I think the Admirals would fight for it.

    I'm glad there was no more damage than some minor damage to Cheerful and two bulbs. I can only imagine what went through your mind as the bulbs feel to the bench.... As for the words.... family site.

    My condolences on First Mate Brinkley, EJ. I've lost my mates over time also and it's a hard thing to have happen. They are family.
