Just curious Karl. Your work so far, including cast cannon barrels, is some of the nicest I've ever seen. Did you have a specific purpose for the lathe in mind?

Viewing this thread one can really get a feel for what it must have been like to be a crew member during those times.

I hope you consider adding at least one gun crew to this masterpiece.

I've been making progress on my model and according to the instruction booklet I should be painting it, at least parts of it.

Are acrylic's ok ? I did apply a sanding sealer. but I want to stain the untreated floor boards which are walnut.

Thanks

Hello Karl,

I'm speechless! Fantastic job! The details are amazing!

As you have much more skills and experience, could you tell me if the FD150/E is enough to do all the tasks of wood ship modeling? Do you plan to turn masts with it? I’m asking this because I’m going to buy a lathe and I’m deciding between this and the PD 230/E.

Hello friends.

Thanks to all for the kind comments.

Mauricio,

Proxxon FD 150E, Mast and yards you can not do with the machine.

Peak width of which is only be 150 mm.

I will only use with it for small parts, Cannon, Dead Eyes etc.

and I wanted this machine have absolutely.

Google Translator

Regards Karl

I've been looking at your build log for the last couple of weeks Karl but haven't added my admiration as I wanted to go through the whole log first ( and to keep going over the pictures) like everyone else I'm in awe of your work sir . One word WOW .
