Beautiful job.

Question from Anja, how do you get those tiles so shining.

You clean them?

Sjors

the tiles were not treated in any way, straight off the roll, but with a week interval, one side is more tarnished than the other, i have now listened to @James H and have now rubbed with fine wire wool, and coated with a water based varnish, the shineyness has gone

That looks a ton better.

Could not agree more. 😀  There was a uric acid (urine) treatment posted in the recent past that looked great as well .  Would this work on this particular copper material as well as the steel wool treatment did for Kevin?

i didnt like how she looked in the last post,  to much yellow, so i have removed everything and had a bit of a redo

the decoration above the far right window needs a slight adjustment, and paint the inner sills

Always a good result when the Qtr galleries line up with the stern gallery, well done Kevin.👍

Fills me with dread whenever I approach that area of work, it's such an important  feature of the hull.

B.E.

thank you, it lines up, but looks so very messy

day141-4

have spent the last few days trying to get the side rails to look right, although they are nearly there, they are far from brilliant, the pain for me, is getting the last section over the after three ports where it ccrosses the banding, ten attempts so far without joy, the yellow has to be redone as the banding has moved slightly,

all in all, im loving this, build, any fault there are are due to my stooooooopidity

I can see the issue Kevin, are you fitting the mouldings in individual pieces or long strips? The aftermost piece looks out of kilter which would throw the line off.

It needs a graceful curve to meet the Qtr gallery;

I would remove the last piece and run a length  across the ports, and fit it as it conforms to the sheer line, without paying too much attention to the manual photos.

From the bow to the  midships it looks just fine.

originally as one piece, but as the after section has been removed a few time the piece you are referring to has also been taken off and yes it looks wrong

Do not be too hard on yourself, it is obvious you are making a great effort to get things right and are to be congratulated for doing so.

side rails are now fitted on both sides, although they look symmetrical it also looks so very tatty, for me thats been the most frustrating part of the build, with little to show for a weeks work

There's something looking a little awry with the headworks Kevin.

Should not the Main Rail (top rail) sit behind  the Hair bracket that runs up from the upper cheek?

B.E.

thank you BE i will sort tomorrow

I’m just catching up, Kevin, and I have to say that you are making a superlative job of this build.  Testament to that fact is that Mrs. Kevin is happy to lend a hand at the shipyard.  It all looks really great!  I must also pay my humble respects to Chris for designing such a great model!

We are all works in progress, all of the time.
