Thanks Mike. I have too say, it is tempting. I'm getting another boat this weekend (I know, I have too many kits at this point) to add to the stash. I think the only things keeping me from starting multiple builds are the clutter on my work table and my urge to finish the boat I started back in 2015 ! I haven't heard of your other two builds. Where are the other build logs? You make me feel like I'm missing something. The two build logs you have are looking very nice. It shouldn't be too long until you finish one of them, as you have started doing the rigging on your Niagara. By the way, thanks for looking in. I'm hesitant to update my log before I at least get the main boom finished and rigged, but I will update once it is. Have a good day!

Your Syren is looking great! Nice work! -
Bob, nice job on the rigging! How do you strop your blocks, especially the ones attached to the mast? They are very neatly done. Too neatly done…… :D.

She is looking very nice! How do you prepare your blocks? That meaning how do you get the hooks on them, strop them, and attach them to a point?

Thank you Mike! Good question, I don't know where to display it, but I do have a couple of ideas. Either on a bookshelf or……, see I'm not sure yet ! I will have to look at the forum for displaying models in the home, which is a very good thread. Thanks for visiting!

Very nice work Patrick! She looks great on the water! Too bad she won't float when you're done, though I personaly wouldn't float any model of mine unless it was rc, I'd be too scared !

Hello again! It feels like a while since I last updated. I had a while where I couldn't fit much if any build time in anywhere. Now, though, I have finished the bowsprit rigging and have started work on the fore mast. The rigging was done with the fittings unpainted and I painted them afterwards. That way the paint didn't peel or rub off while I got the lines on. It is not perfect, buy I think by the last line I kind of had the hang of it (pun intended ). After painting, I hand tapered the lower fore mast. I used my squishy sanding block from say back when I was sanding my hull. I filed the notch on the top for the last cap and glued it in. I then added the 'iron' bands on which are made of striping tape. I also glued in the eyebolts. The mast is stained, but the painted parts will be painted after all the structural work is complete. Anyway, here are the pictures! Until next time!

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
