Hey everyone. So I decided to try to drill out the hole again and if i totally destroyed the piece then so be it.  To my suprise it worked just enough! 

Here is the mini mast assembled

next comes these 5 parts which was s challenge on the last one i did. 

then comes the black "radar panel" or whatever it is. All ready pre assembled a few months ago. I might have to touch up the paint as I dont use primer.

the bell looks fine......think of it swaying in the breeze in motion of the ship      fine progress so far.

Got out of work early so I'm just  continuing with the range finders.

Main mast time! i have been waiting for this part. I looks really fun!!

I'm loving the mast.  Its basically all brass. I have always wanted to work with brass or scratch build a brass model.  This is the closest I've ever come to that. 

Anyways I started by bending all the brass I could. And making sure parts fit into holes (which of course they don't). I drilled out a few holes.

Figures I get called into work today. I was having so mich fun with the mast to.

I had a little time after work so I continued on the mast.  It looks so crooked in photos but doesn't look crooked in person...wierd.

I decided to use plastic for the very top of the mast. It has a round shape unlike the flat PE. 

also the peice at the bottom is about to be glued. 

 With that part 1of 3 of the mast is complete.

Today I just laid out the next step on the main mast. 

I lost yet another important piece. Inside The spot I circled where the 3 scribed pieces meet there is a piece that helps all 3 join together. I lost it though  my only chioce now is to just put an big ugly blob of glue there.

Theres to many of them!  I spent 20 minutes on my belly with a flashlight looking for the dam piece.

Put a sheet on the ground, doesn't make them jump around, but drop dead in their track, and a towel on your lap, same effect. I prefer the white sheet, as I like to get on my knees for the missus

they are real.....I've seem 'em.   some look like a wookie

..one of his baby pictures....look at the eyes....and the claws digging into the admiral's leg.  he was a terror as a pup!  he's mellowed out now,  but the first thing that hits the floor,  usually ends up in his lair under our bed.  sticks to me like glue though.....my 'lil buddy

What is it with us model ship builders and small white dogs ? He's never damaged or eaten a single thing to do with my models, although many a shoe has passed his choppers .
