Thank you for your comments

I installed all the top rails painted black. I had enough to see walls in the aft section waving. I tried to straighten since few months without success. Frames in the aft section are tapering from looking face and side view too. If I would have known before I would not have tapered from side view even if drawings were showing it.

Hi Gaetan

I have followed along in the shadows for a while, but now must say I am admirer of your work,it is fantastic  :) Two things historically you may find of interest, but you may know already.

It is officially documented that a builders model was produced for Sovereign of the Seas. This is regarded as possibly the first builders model in England. This dates to around 1637.

In 1698,Peter the Great visited the Royal dockyards and was given a model of the Royal Sovereign, this started the ship model building phenomenon in Russia that many of us are aware of today.

Kind Regards

Hi Nigel,

Interesting facts, considering the enormous amount of money involved the king had to grant  for the construction, it would be reasonable to think that they found a way to give an idea of the look of the model before the realisation of the ship to help the king to take a decision.

Carabrente, as 1 part, it is difficult, and for this reason, it is not made in 1 part.

By adding many small easy parts, you can make 1 big difficult part.

good idea. I will follow your advice.
thanks again.

Gaetan, you have amazed me with your determination.  I think I would have gone to the pub and drowned myself after the first day.  Or need new glasses to see the parts I am working on after I crushed them.  Nice Job!

Beauty over power... hard to decide after 500 years :) French ships of the period take my breath away. And so are the english warships. And yes, dutch ships too. And oh, i forgot the spanish..... :)

Gaetan, I think you are a true master and your work is astoneshing... "Some decorations", you say.. :)

As always, a joy to watch your build log.
