You are welcome Carl and yes, I'm planning on coming back as soon as my yard is cleaned up before spring. I'm thinking of cutting down Gwen's maple tree before then. Never a dull moment. Cheers,

Thanks Lawrence for your best wishes. Gwen and I wish you and Bernadette a very great and healthy 2019. No more updates on Hr. Ms. Java, she is finished and parked above my drafting table. I don't know when i can start building again. I'm tied up with study in nutrition and a few other things. Cheers,

Youns have a great 2019 Carl. Anchor chain? I used the smallest necklace I could find in the local craft shop for my Java build. Didn't look out of place. Cheers,

Impressive work Greg. I'm totally befuddled with your painting technique. Just shows you that I am a brush type artist (oil, water color), even though I have spray painted many airplanes when I owned an airplane repair facility in New jersey. What is that "chipping" business you are talking about? What kind of paints do you use? Is there a handy dandy "how to paint model ships" book available? I guess I'll have to take a trip to OZ for some lessons 😉 Cheers,

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
