  1. Yes- I agree too. I would remove and add some glue before installing. You don't want bulkheads shifting while planking. It's a very long hull. No need to make it more difficult. ;-) Steve
  2. That looks good. Maybe I should start building mine. ;-) Steve
  3. Anxious to see how you line off your hull for the second planking with your vaneer strips. It'll be interesting to see this ship finished without copper plates as it usually is. Steve
  4. Very happy I looped in on this log. Nice deadeye production. Steve
  5. Yeah- that's the stuff you should get not that pink crap. David, you can and should still request better wood from them. I'll say it again- this kit isn't cheap. Steve
  6. I apologize in advance that I'm not in full Mayflower building mode yet to work through these challenges with you. I actually ordered William Baker's book- The Mayflower and Other Colonial Vessels that Chuck referenced in the build. Regarding the stain- I would sand and stain after you've applied the planks to the ship. I think you should also modify the ship to suit your taste as no one really knew how she looked. Again- I want my gun ports open ;-) Steve
  7. You are in the groove. Keep it up! Can't wait for the fully planked hull. Steve
  8. Received the display case from Kreative Acrylics today. I'm very pleased with the end result. The dimensions worked out perfectly. Enjoy! Steve
