  1. thought you would be.........couldn't see you doing it any other way it's best to eat the whole elephant......and not just the parts you like
  2. where you painted the blue.......are you going to plank and paint, or simply paint over what's there? you should plank, then paint due to the lessening of thickness of the bulwarks....upper hull. good to see your planking the bottom......it will look better fully planked as well.
  3. very nice update on where you are with your projects Kevin. I'm very glad your not giving up the hobby. it would be a shame ....I think to myself.....if I were to do an update like this.... it might take up the entire page
  4. agreed....you certainly have made a lot of progress since I last looked in........the tower and base superstructure looks awesome! on the deck, it really looks great! your paint skills are really good.......nicely done! love that hull
  5. guess it doesn't matter what the definition of 'DNA' gets on the parts.......we all seem to leave our 'Dinty Moore' somewhere or another glad to hear it wasn't anything serious Danny. do the barrels move up and down? always hated it with plastic modeling.....darn things usually ended up loose. I'm sure paper would tend to offer some sort of resistance. they look really good....wonderful job on them!
  6. it make no difference which medium it is, it's always nice to see kits of lesser known ships being produced. there looks to be quite a bit to her.....should prove to be an interesting build
  7. ...and he's off! the PE additions to these kits is so cool! it adds so much to the model! very nice! ......I don't see no bent ladder???????
  8. getting caught up with your build Julian........you've done a super job! the aft railings and moldings look great, as well as the cannons! the inner bulwarks are filled out wonderfully with the railing strips
  9. so glad to see you've returned my friend! I've missed seeing your superb workmanship. I'll look forward in seeing this one's completion
  10. I would imagine for the size of this hull, there must be a lot of parts to cut out.........definitely takes a big bite out of the actual build time good to hear your still working on her........look forward in seeing your progress.
  11. I used a welder's helmet with auto darkening to see it.......so cool, even if it was only 60 % visibility up here in the Northeast saw my first 'crescent' sun really nice progress since I last looked in.......your sails look really good! rigging looks great......
  12. I can sympathize.......my 'T' time has suffered as well nice bit of progress with the PE!
  13. yup! she's a big elephant little bites at a time........but then again, there's a lot to be said about the halfway point. anything past that, and you'll be gaining ground look'in good
  14. you call THAT.....a P.E. break?!?! that stern view looks super Greg......there is so much there to see it must have driven you mad, just doing the brace work! you weren't kidding about this build being more complex that your last......wonderful workmanship!
