  1. Nice work, Daniel. Don't consider it as being "lonely", consider it as "being one of a kind".
  2. I've not tried it yet, but it was suggested elsewhere that a potato can be used to hold parts and also double as a heatsink. I've used clay before, but the potato idea is interesting.
  3. Looking at your planking, cutting gunports would scare the heck out of me. Lovely work all around.
  4. Congratulations on finishing!!!! I think I'll just make a big pot of coffee and wait for the pictures. Oh..and I'll do a happy dance for you.
  5. Michael, You and Daniel both push the limits... just at opposite ends of the spectrum.
  6. Quick aside and then back to the build. Yes, suppliers web addy's can be posted.
  7. Sweet work, Piet. I think those curvy things are cleats. Edit... thanks Andy for correcting me.
  8. I'm putting my money on the gentleman to the right... There's a look in his eye...
  9. Anthony, Well done on the orlop. It boggles mind that you build the deck off ship.
  10. You've spoiled us, Michael. Thread and nuts on the eyebolts, yet. Looks great!!!!
  11. Great to see you back with her, Neal. What is Ren-Shape? Some sort of plastic?
  12. Tricky but it worked... paper over a mold. Neat!!!
  13. If you're worried about the finish having problems with the PVA and sawdust, use some of your finish and sawdust. I'm using a matte varnish and it works well. I've not tested this with other finishes.
  14. Gil, Excellent work on the serving. How do like that particular serving machine? I'm tempted to get that one.
  15. Gaetan, The process may be slow but the results are stunning.
  16. Plans and Monographs from Marine Museum Paris http://www.aamm.fr/boutique/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=65&language=en
  17. The Micromarks have two types available. One is a chuck like you'd find on a drill press. The other is for collets. Collets come in fixed sizes and run truer than then a chuck. The chuck takes an infinite amount of sizes. Both have their uses and on the MM, they are easily swapped. I can't answer about the Sherline or any other brand (except for the ones out of China's Central Machine) but I suspect they the same options.
  18. Sudomekh, If you haven't done so, open a completed build log. You can show as much of your building, including all the many parts, as you want without taking over Nenad's build log.
  19. Nenad, Well done on the fix.
  20. Amazing how you figured out to hinge it in the middle and have the thread pull it together and capture the decking. I'm wondering how you glue things together. Or maybe let the thread hold it together?
