Insanity!  Jaw dropping insanity!  Just as I like it!

She’s T-totally trashed, and my mind is officially blown.

She honestly looks bottom ready right now. One little nudge and down she goes.

Easily the nicest build from that era I’ve ever seen.

Fantastic work! the detail you have achieved is incredible, especially considering the small scale of this model. Some years ago I tried my hand at the Trumpeter Tsesarevich kit, but after a struggle (just spelling the name was hard enough), I abandoned it.  Looking at your pictures makes me wish I'd kept at it, though I doubt I'd ever have got near this level of skill!

This may be the last Zvezda kit you ever build but it is clear you hit it out of the ballpark yet again with this one. Rozhestvensky himself would have no trouble recognizing her.

Clean desk policy by the Admiral?

And as said before me, another beautiful build. You can see how much you have improved over time, when you look at the middle ship of the three and the last ... a stunning difference. The white, being sterile, emotionless, and the Borodino all roughened up and raw. Great result mate. Time to start on space ships ;)

That is without a doubt the most disgusting nasty wreck of a model I have ever seen! WELL DONE!! Once again you have achieved a new high in modeling.

What a ship!

I like those early battleships, especially after the special treatment you give them.

(one question: did you use light grey/white thread for the rigging, or is it shiny as a result of the flashlight?). On the pics it looks so clean compared to al the dirt and rust.....

Probably the fresh air up there keeping the rigging clean. Even the coal smoke is clean compared to down below.

Unbelievable. I had no idea the model was so small. That just makes your achievement even more amazing. Such a sad fate, though for such a proud ship. To sail right across the world to be so ignominiously defeated; and the whole of that fleet was either destroyed in the battle, or later at Port Arthur, or captured. Was that the beginning of the end of Tsarist Russia as a world power?

  • 2 years later...

I am getting ahead of myself.  Haven't finished the Mimi but looking forward to future projects. A couple of years ago I bought the Zvenza kit of the Borodin. Now by following these MSW posts I have gotten acquainted with the extra details that are possible by using PE parts. In my research I came over you post and I love dit. I am also following your U-9 model that I consider the best plastic model presentation of a a submarine. Thanks for such great models for us to drool.
