That rigging is fantastic

Posted (edited)

Todays effort; the railings. The Hasegawa set of quite good, thick (easy to use) good instructions and little flaps on the bottom you bend at 90 degrees so it’s easy to stick down. I’ll now need to repaint it all as no matter how hard you try you can never cover the things on paint or they chip off.

ships never look right without railings and as this was originally a passenger ship it’s much better

Great-looking ship. Something you don't often see modeled. I like it.

Thanks, it’s near impossible to find this kit, I just got lucky on Facebook marketplace and got it for around 100 Australian pesos. Hasegawa PE is really expensive for what you get too,

Haven't been around lately for a number of reasons but catching up on this build in a binge read was worth it.

Greg you are cranking out these boats faster than I can get through your build logs. Almost hard to keep up.

Beautiful work on fleet! The grunginess and weathering is all too realistic looking. Just amazing!

Amazing...

And, to be honest, I would have never thought this topic would work - but it does.  I kept skipping past it, but that was a mistake.  Love the activity and the cargo.  Plus, this gives a solid opportunity for weathering.  Just wow...

I'm going to have to grind some of your other builds.  Looking at the 'oil canning' shows me I didn't get the technique right.  It looks downright 3D - like you are carving out part of the paint coats.  Nicely done...

I got a base made up, I’ll spray it gloss black then place the ships and boats like a diorama but I don’t want to use water as I want to show off the undersides and it’s massive and it will never store anywhere, so once I show it later this year I can disassemble it
