And a captain's chair too!!!  And it swivels?  Incredible!  Where is that giant grain of rice Patrick, they don't have it in Oz?  ;)

Cheers,

Hi Piet

Many thanks.  However, here in Oz, we don't have giant grains of rice. We just have these:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Witchetty_grub

Well....if you look long and hard enough, it kinda looks like a grain of rice, i.e. until it moves!!!!   :o  :o  :o

Cheers

Thanks Carl and Lawrence for your compliments above!  A special thanks, also, to all who added their Likes as well.

Just a quick update so far.  Tonight I added the chrome flashing around the bow's port and starboard anchor wells.  They don't look too bad; contrasting nicely against Majellan's black hull.  I also tried my hand at doing one of her two anchors.  Not  a bad try, I thought. I'll see if I can do any better and once satisfied, I'll paint them a silvery  colour.

I hope you enjoy the photos, folks.

All the best!

Patrick

Yeah man, rather flashy looking!  Anchor looks usable buy do the flukes swivel??   ;)  Kidding of course but with your abilities I wouldn't put it past you  B)

Reference that delirious looking worm - up, I am familiar with them.  We had them in Indonesia as well, they could be found in a smallish type of banana.  The indigenous Javanese people loved them too as well as some other scary critters.

Hi Piet

I had no idea that the witchetty grubs were in Indonesia as well. Oh well, it kinda makes sense, I guess, seeing as Australia and Indonesia are neighbours.

I haven't eaten one (thankfully), but everyone seems to say that they're yummy! Not for me, though.

Thanks also for your comments about the anchor.  Sadly, I reckon the swivelling flukes are a tad beyond my abilities  :( .

Cheers and all the best!

Hi everyone and thanks for all of your comments and Likes!

Well....look what Majellan's naughty rich guests have done.  They've dragged their chairs up to the tiny piece of deck in front of the Bridge's windows.  What's more, one cheeky guest has even brought up her own umbrella to shade from the sun!  And all of this in full view of the Captain!

Outrageous, I say! :P  :P  :P

Anyhow, in reality, I've added the umbrella, a table and an assortment of chairs to bring some 'life' to this part of the bridge deck.  To further add atmosphere, the chairs are haphazardly pointing in different directions, as if to give the impression that the guests have just left in a hurry.

I hope you enjoy the photos.

Cheers

Patrick

Hi folks

Not long to go before Majellan's finished!

I've added the anchors into the anchor-wells and added the capstan drums and bollards (temporarily placed at this stage)  at the focsle.  At the rear, Majellan's tender and one of her jet-ski's are ready for launching on the rear fold-down deck. The second jet-ski will be mounted some distance behind the hull; once the display stand has been built.

Enjoy the rest of your weekends!

Cheers

Patrick

Very decadent Pat. I could take her out and do some fishing.

David B

Thanks David

Ahhh! Fishing! What a coincidence that you've mentioned 'fishing' because I have actually toyed with the idea of leaving a couple of fishing rods casually placed in the ship's tender. However, at this scale, they'd be so tiny that they'd be hard to see.

Still, who knows. I may yet give them a go. No harm in trying, I guess.

Have a great week.

Cheers

Totally outrageous Patrick.  I'm so looking forward seeing her on the display stand.  It'll be a sight to behold.  How can you top this one - - - hmmmm the next challenge.

Cheers,

Hi everyone

Thanks for all of your comments and Likes!  Denis, thanks also for the info on Lepidoptera.  I can see why they hold such fascination for you.

Tonight, I added the railings that sit amidships on the main deck.  They're fiddly and I'm not sure that I've really done them justice, but at this scale, some compromises had to be made.

I've also added a bit more detail to the foscle.

I hope you like the photos.

All the best!

Cheers

Nice work Patrick!  The railings look very nice.  Getting the spacing and the alignment correct at your scale must have been quite a challenge.

Thanks Frank!

Yep, I've still got some tweaking to do with the railings, (not just these ones), but also the ones that are situated on the other decks.  They're still not sitting straight, but with a bit of fiddling, they should come out ok.

Thanks and all the best!

Cheers

I guess we always want to strive harder, but, I'm happy that at least I tried to do them. After all, I was almost going to chicken out and not do them at all.  But, you know what they say - "if you don't try...".
