  1. I have done this in the past and then used a batten to get visual of the line. The bulkheads are usually close enough to get a good result. David B
  2. Job well Ed. But I echo the rest that it would have been safer using a saw with a jig. Open blades like that scare the day lights out of me. David B
  3. An ingenius way to mass produce a difficult part. Well done. David B
  4. Congratulation Brian. Your AVS really deserved it. I have been lucky to attend some IPMS shows in Chicago and the level of quality can be pretty high. I saw a model of the IJN Fuso done in card and was blown away. I met the builder and shamelessly tried to get him to come to a club meeting. Needless to say your AVS out shined the rest of the pack. Pat yourself on the back. Your model is beautiful and deserved it. To bad you do not live close so I can see it shine at the show in Manitowoc WI David B wi
  5. Came across your log Krill nice work you have done the hull is splendid along with the rigging. David B
  6. Just give it your all Andy, and use it to hone your skills. The end result will look good. David B
  7. You are coming along fine Tony. Using Maple for your frames was a smart move. A bit of advice for your next model. When gluing futocks together they were connected with a shaped piece called a chock. This adds more strength to the joint. You are doing a great job. David B
  8. Alexander Kent is good. I have read almost all of his books. A great way to learn how the British navy operated in the past. David B
  9. I went through your log Albert and am astounded by your craftsmanship. Your carving is first rate. Did you use a moto tool or chisels.? David B
  10. Having enough tools is great but the main problem is do you have room for everything. David B
  11. I echo the above sentiments Ken. You have done a wonderful job. Your model of the Niagara is first rate. You have done her justice. David B
