  1. Andy, The chains are looking good. As for Sjors popcorn cart... he must be eating it as fast as he pops it.
  2. Remco, Nice work on the stropping. I have question. Obviously this is block and stropping for a heavy load. Is it actually supported/secured to the mast by that one light line? Or this just for position only?
  3. Nice carving work. And with out using any power tools either. Impressive.
  4. Yikes! That is going to be one big honkin' cross-section. You've already started prepping the wood, so I hate to tell you this, but your build is beyond "set-up".
  5. Augie: "Stalwart of professional building"???? Huh... who...? me...? Andy: Just look for Sjors. He always has the popcorn cart. And usually a front row seat. Just to make the point that I'm not a total slacker (Hi Ben, I took your post to heart)..... here's an update. First picture is where I am at present. The lads in the sawpits have been busy cutting the deck planking. I've been busy fitting and caulking. About 6 more strakes and then the sander comes out. Special Tools department: Here's the clamps I made for working with the decking and hull planking.
  6. HO would be close at 1:85. Any place that sells model trains should have some.
  7. Andy, Looking great. I sit with the rest and await your rigging. We have faith, confidence and popcorn.
  8. Fantastic.... Stupendous... Wonderful..... Great job on the rigging. Sorry... had to catch up with everyone else...
  9. Sarah, There's quite a few gals around... Here's some of the screennames: Anja, Doris, Padeen, Vulcanbomber, Frederica, Shaz, tlevine, Romiol. I pretty sure there's more and I've missed some.
  10. Gene has posted exactly 2 posts. Neither one in a build log. Apparently he's decided not re-do his logs at this point.
  11. Yeah.. but a for a limited time only... wait for it.... GINSU KNIVES!!!!!!!
  12. Augie, Your secret is safe with all 2,300 members. No one will tell me. On the brightside, a month ago it would have been over 16,000. Not sure some of them would have kept quiet.
  13. Augie,.. beat me to it... I have bow to the faster poster.
  14. Good on you Sherry. Looks to be a very intricate and fascinating project. You look to be off to a good start. I'll grab a chair and share my popcorn...
  15. Anja, Don't worry about Half Moon, we will be patient. Just be yourself and the interviews will go well.
  16. I can't answer the "why", but it's very common in the French ships. Stylistic choice perhaps?
  17. You can also buy Rubber Cement Thinner which wiill reconstitute the cement if starts drying out. It is, shall we say, nasty stuff. Keep away from flames and use in a well-ventilated area.
  18. Just amazing and beautiful work, Doris. I like the way you did yourself as a figure also. Is that your dog? Or the King's dog?
  19. Rusty, Another build? Wow... I'm looking forward to following it. This type ship is really different from the "normal" things we see.
  20. Alex, Beautiful planking. I'm with Augie, I can't wait to see it with the finish on it.
