Color corrected image.....

The camera didn't read the light conditions properly, caused them to be too dark and muted....

The chrome looks perfect the paint is stunning.

It's a beautiful lady in waiting....

Thank you.

The texture is molded into the plastic. The paint is Mr. Color off white, then given a couple of coats of Mr. Color semi gloss clear.

PS: I should have added, the rag top was first given a primer coat of flat black before everything else went on. The flat black provides some shadowing around the raised details.

sorry I lost track of this project..........came out to be a really good looking car!  :)    very nice job!

had I kept up on this build,  I would have been able to express my views on the use of brake fluid to remove chrome.  I use it all the time,  and it is NOT the big scary monster that some think it is.   I guess I can chalk it up to my mechanical background....I know the product.....I know what it can do.   who ever would be nutz enough to mix chemicals together like that,  have absolutely no idea about chemistry,  and I wouldn't hang around with them.........I'd be too afraid that they might mix ammonia and bleach next!

What's wrong with that?...............:P

Mixing bleach with ammonia generates toxic chloramine vapor.... (chlorine gas) yummy.....

I went on a deep dive in my garage this week and salvaged a kit I have not laid eyes on for a long, long time.

This is a 1980's vintage Revell 1:12 scale Rolls Royce Phantom III kit, made in Japan. It's well detailed and a good size, so it will be easier for me to detail it out. Made in Japan usually means a better fit quality, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. When the time comes, will start a separate build thread for this one. I'm not sure how rare this kit might be, but I can tell you I've been collecting models for a long time and this is one I personally have not seen around much.

Beautiful kit, it was derived from the Phantom II kit. the II is available in the 60-70 dollar price range but the III, when it is available, easily runs 100.00 bucks more..... The difference between the two, the II is an open coach cabriolet body and the III is the sedan version...

Entex also made a III in the same scale, (I don't know if it is a panto or if they acquired the molds) that runs in the 120-130.00 range when you can find one....

Beautiful kits..... all of them...... (and unfortunately I don't have one in my stash)

That model is like a fine wine and has aged well.

I do believe this might be the Entex kit reboxed and sold by Revell, just as you said. It makes sense. I don't remember ever seeing it in an Entex box before, but I do remember, and owned, many of the Entex kits myself.

Once upon a time, I literally had thousands of different kits collected in my garage. I put most of them on Ebay and sold them all away when the auctions were in their heyday.

It's not just kits that get hoarded.  Apparently there's guys hoarding wood like Swiss pear and Boxwood and even parts.  Chuck was talking about this in one of Syren Model Company posts.
