Wow!  your making fast progress with this project!.............looks great! :)    the color looks super too...........the only tanks I've ever built had the rubber tracks.

Thanks Denis. The rubber band tracks are a lot easier to deal with, but some tanks have a sag in the tracks which is hard to replicate with rubber band tracks.

With the added tools, road wheel, track links, decals, and machine gun, I am going to call this one done and move on to something else. This kit was a fun departure from what I usually build. Too bad it's long out of production as it's a kit that gives a good bang for the low parts count, but occasionally it can be found at bargain prices on Ebay and at swap meets.

Nice, Craig. I like that subtle shading effect.

Thanks, Jack.

If you start with a dark base color like Tamiya dark yellow, then mix 25% white, 40% white, and last 50 % white, you can achieve this effect by shooting on the layers in that order with the intent to highlight the high spots to give the model an appearance of depth. Also, I used a dark brown wash in the creases and on weld lines.

Wow CDW, that is awesome! Lots of skill all rolled up on one model. Really like the shading effects and your tracks/suspension - subtlety and intensity mixes well together.

Boy, a guy takes a little time to do some cross country driving over a couple of days so that his wife wouldn't need to take a bus, (I told her NO WAY) and when I get back you are all done yet again! And as usual with fantastic results.

It is hard to believe that this is basically the same tank that Jack built just a few weeks ago. It looks so much more modern and deadly.

Great work Craig

Lou

Hey, thanks Lou. Did you enjoy the drive? Glad you're back.

I started working on a subject today that's familiar to you. Will post some photos of it tonight or tomorrow.

Not too bad really. A little over 400 miles all told. I won't be able to say that my gas mileage was two months to the gallon this week though! A little rain, some snow still in the passes and sunshine and bugs east of the mountains. It was nice getting out of the neighborhood for a change. My only complaint is that it seems like people have forgotten how to drive and are shocked at the speed it takes to get to the speed limit. I HATE getting behind a car on a two lane mountain road who insists on driving twenty miles an hour UNDER the speed limit and to heck with the line of cars stacked up behind! Made me wish I was driving your M-50!😈

Now you have my curiousness up as well

Lou

I used to see those types a lot when I running (driving) across the pass to work everyday.   I figured either they were rubber-necking or just too scared to go much faster.   50 MPH speed limit except for the hairpin turns.  I usually ran it (when I could) at 60, though I did get pulled over one time for going a bit faster than that.
