DKM Graf Zeppelin by RGL - FINISHED - Trumpeter - 1/350 - PLASTIC

Recommended Posts

This is a BF109. The panels are recessed as is the canopy. New trick, painted the canopy black with acrylic then gave it a green wash with Oils that bring up the metal parts are a brush is not thin enough. Then a light wash to bring out the panels. Next will be some light dry brushing to bring out some colour.

Once thats sone on all of the aircraft I’ll add decals them weather

The Kettenkrad must have just chewed up the decking something rotten, guessing it was used to pull planes and dollies?  Really, a Kubelwagen?  What was that used for, heading into town at night? 🙂

Well our HMS Queen Elizabeth has a Ford Galaxy people carrier that travels around with her :)  Oh yes and the captain got sacked for using to take the kids to school--- very harsh.,

HMAV Bounty 'Billings' completed

HMS Cheerful - Syren-Chuck' completed :)

Steam Pinnace 199 'Billings bashed' - completed

HMS Ledbury F30 --White Ensign -completed 😎

Talking about miniature ...  You might have better built this one at 1:200. Planes look smashing. Deck attributes as well. I can't really see that motorised vehicle. Is that nail art?

The kettenrad was just horrible to build. The little Kubelwagon was a bit better.

The first time i see a kettenkrad and a kubel on scale 1/350.

Great build on the Graf zeppelin, and the planes. And everything else of course.

Short movie. You could have sped a little less, you just made the fastest round in the WWII series over the DKM -GZ circuit. With enough pitstops along the way  it gives a good impression of the work you have put into her ... a more than very credible representation of the ship in actual use. Weathering looks very good, details are marvelous. Can't find much fault with it ... but for the video ;)  Working on your plane truck-trike?

I live in hope they will make a USS Langley so I can build that as my third US ship, but I’m not really inspired by anything at the moment as anything I build I want to weather heavily as it’s fun. I’m really not a fan of doing that many aircraft again, so as a break I intend to do a couple of flying boats in ‘Shore Leave’. I haven’t built a plastic aircraft since the very early 1980’s. E41AD648-5C37-4BA8-A790-98C5491C0691.thumb.jpeg.226510c41c54d37e37acf9671456230b.jpeg

I had a Cant Z 501 kit in 1/72 back in the day -- don't remember the manufacturer. It was partially completed when my 18-year modeling hiatus began.
