  1. Glad I reserved my spot in the front row Robin - looks like it might get crowded in here. No doubt Sjors will arrive soon with the popcorn. Nice to see you started again.
  2. Sounds like you were very lucky there Bob! Glad to hear you are okay though. Thanks for the warning.
  3. Looking good Patrick. For your bitts, you may wish to consider inserting a brass pin into the "foot" of each vertical post and drilling a corresponding hole into the deck, then gluing them in place with epoxy. This would ensure they don't come off again when tension is applied to the rigging lines that will eventually go around them.
  4. Thanks Gil. I've almost finished fitting out the Mizzen yards, so hope to install these this weekend. You're absolutely right about getting the hands back out of the rigging again - I'm sure I'll get plenty more practice at this before I'm done!
  5. Whew, just made it in time for a front row seat! Another great project Rusty. I'll enjoy following along with this one too.
  6. Magnificent as always Doris. What a treat to see each of your updates.
  7. Sorry to hear you've been ill Patrick but glad that you are now on the road to recovery - just be careful about inhaling sawdust for a while! Your ship is looking great - the microglaze on the windows really does add something a little extra I think.
  8. That finish has turned out superbly Augie - I really like the effect. I think John has the right idea re display!
  9. You never fail to surprise and delight us Remco. What superb detail. Just brilliant!
  10. It may be challenging Mark, but you seem to be doing your customary excellent work. Looks pretty darn good from here.
  11. Well done Kevin. You'll sure have plenty of practice at this aspect by the time you're done!
  12. Congratulations Keith. You are going to love this machine. Frank is right, you won't need any more instructions than what it comes with. I guarantee this will become one of your all time favourite tools.
  13. Looking good Sjors. You'll be caught up to Mobbsie in no time at this rate!
  14. David, I only just noticed your log. It looks like you've had a steep learning curve - well done! I know nothing about card modelling, having never made one, but I do recall Chris Coyle posting a really interesting and useful tutorial on the subject. Here is the link if you haven't already found it: http://modelshipworld.com/index.php?/tags/forums/Intro+to+Card+Models/
  15. Great job on the planking Augie. I'd have to agree with the "no paint" vote.
  16. Ah, it must be Friday at last! Nice to see some pictures Wayne. You're absolutely right about Chuck's thread - looks better and easier to work with.
  17. Gary, I bought mine directly from Micromark. Treat yourself to a few other goodies to make the shipping worthwhile.
  18. Mark, Do-overs are just another way that this hobby provides value for money. Twice the enjoyment of making each part (at least).
  19. Very nice job with the "Rusty Duplicator"! Looks like you're really enjoying that creative tax deduction Rusty.
  20. Lovely work on the traveller and sheave Mobbsie. Sorry that I was right about the tools I have a cure though! Go and treat yourself to some nice high quality tools to help you get over it. As my Dad always says, "the quality is remembered long after the price has been forgotten". Smart fella, my Dad!
  21. That is certainly true Kevin. Glad to hear you've worked out what the "block" was - looking forward to more progress shortly now!
