  1. Nenad, I know exactly where your are mentally. Back in 1994, I lived near the Mississippi River and that was the year of the great flood. All you can do is watch the news and see familiar things being swallowed by the river. I did volunteer to sandbag quite a bit and often was turned away as they had too many volunteers. Still.. it's sad, overpowering to watch and not be able to focus on anything else. Hold fast. My thoughts are with you and your country.
  2. NIce work, Piet. Very nice... I don't see those imperfections as I see a masterpiece in progress.
  3. Nice looking framing. I hope you can find some time to work on her.
  4. Do you know how to draw a crowd or what??? :) I guess I'd best follow the teeming masses...
  5. Scott, It's tradition... but without the adult beverages and great food of St. Patrick's Day and Cinco de Mayo. Just two examples, I'm sure there's others but just too lazy to think about them. Seriously, once upon a time, the CC supporters were numerous and heavy into politics. The tradition still lives. If you talk to a Native American, how can something they always knew, be found? It wasn't lost to them.
  6. Congratulations Kats. It's been a long haul and it looks like it was worth it. Sit back, have a celebratory beverage and be proud. That is one helluva accomplishment and should set the standard for detailing and re-building.
  7. Wonderful presentation and wonderful work on the guns, Karl.
  8. An interesting approach and I'm looking forward to seeing how this turns out.
  9. Wow. Very nicely done, Grant. Clean and shipshape...
  10. Looking very good, Ben. And as for the "messy workarea"... HAH.. that's not what most of us would call "messy".
  11. It looks fantastic, Johann. The metal work and details make it very life-like. The only thing I can see that doesn't look right is the breeching rope. It doesn't look long enough for the gun to recoil back for reloading.
  12. Hi Brett, Water-based will give you some issues as it raises the grain and would require re-sanding and re-applying. Polyurethane is a finish, so glue won't stick to it and paint is problematic. If you just want a sealer so you can paint over it, get some sanding sealer which should do what you want.
  13. Paul, By all means, open a build log for her. You'll get help and encouragement and it does make the learning curve a little less steep.
  14. Nice looking ports. Enjoy the fine weather and working outside... we're having rain today which changes my plans to work outside.
  15. Here's wishing you that the shiny side stays down and the cloth and point side stays up. Have good one and I'm looking forward to the vids.
  16. Have a great time, Russ. I'm looking forward to the pics of the schooners, also.
  17. Uh....Michael. This isn't the kit... this is a scratchbuild from the plans Chuck created before it became a kit.
  18. I think everyone who's followed this build will be holding their breath and keeping fingers crossed for you, Remco.
  19. Sweet.. looks just like one would think a working boat of this type would look like: a bit worn, a bit grimey, but well-kept. Congratulations on a model well-done.
  20. If it's copyrighted (and this one is), don't even think about posting the drawings here for others. That's piracy which we don't tolerate.
