As long as the keel at the sternpost area is around 1mm-2mm, you can always sand down the pear so it's flush (or doesn't step) with the 3mm sternpost/rudder post. If the stern was left at 3mm before second planking, then your sand away the pear at the stern to make things level. I know most of this area is coppered, but it's good practice to thin it beforehand.

Something I found but knew nothing about is this: This would, in theory, mean that the images will have rotated around the time they were originally uploaded, and certainly not just recently as there have been no revisions to the software that would make such a change, and this seems to be an isolated case. I edited the first page of your log to correct, so all I can think of is that these will need to be manually altered and re-inserted into your posts.

Please try now. -
As for finding a mentor, I was contacted about the Fifie build, and assured the member that he should go ahead with a log. His work was superb, and I'll be there to assist where I can, knowing the subject intimately. Members are a wealth of knowledge, not just in general, but also for specific subjects. Don't be afraid to approach and ask, whether publicly or privately.

Removing a link
James H replied to Blue Ensign's topic in How to use the MSW forum - **NO MODELING CONTENT**
Ok, I edited it for you. You'll need to set the colour as you like it. Posting a straight link will usually mean you get a photo-link to a topic. You needed to add the link to the name of the ship instead. -
A new company from the Czech Republic will release a 1:48 HMS Endeavour later this year. This is actually another brand of a company that has produced some excellent plastic and resin models for a few years, but this is of course a wooden kit, and we have the very first pictures of it to show you. The model is generally pearwood, with other elements in there that you'd expect such as various castings etc. and these photos show that it looks pretty darn good. I also have the plans here that I've been looking at, and all I can say is you're in for a treat. This is a welcome release of this famous ship, especially as the ones on the market are now quite old. I won't name the company yet...

It is, I understand the formula -
I always wondered how easy it would be to plank that deck with that joggled master plank. I guess I'm now going to see 🤣

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
