I've read that the French built better looking ships than the English. Looking at a book I can read without needing a translator will make studying these much simpler. I really can see the allure of these French builds. I'd like to follow along.

Hi Karl.

I followed your last build with great interest and I shall follow this one with equal interest.

The construction of the rear section is planned as a cross section model with complete inside removal.

Am I correct in thinking that the hull will be fixed and all the decks will slide out ??

Is so how will you achieve this ?

Karl,

Excellent choice!! This project is also bound to be spectacular. I will also enjoy following along.

PS: These books are also so excellent. I have two of them, not the equipage one (in French [my original language]) excellent drawings as well as superb text.

I had a chance to get them but at the moment I would take years to build a 74 gun model.  I would still like to have them but could not justify the price at the time.

This looks like it will be a beautiful ship when it's complete, and make for an interesting build to follow.  The room's filling up fast, but I've found an upper tier seat. I'll just polish up the lenses on my spy-glass.  B)

Cheers

I thought 1:48 would be large but 1:36 will almost need a room of it's own...
