  1. you got a baby??????! SOOOOOOO cute! love 'em as puppies....so much fun! you got me with that other picture.......don't tell me....I'm keen to guess! a deck with a heli-pad! :D looks very cool! that's not an isolated though.....I've gotten that feeling with a couple of my builds. through faring though, sanding will take care of that......I tend to eye ball it as I go along. my biggest concern, is the tapering of the hull......although with proper faring, this usually isn't an issue either. it is good though that your covering all your angles.....should be a sweet looking hull when fully planked.
  2. is there a piece that will wrap around the stern? I have a PDF of the instructions......I sure hope you got more than this to work with......vague doesn't even describe it. doesn't even show the block your talking about.
  3. you could try stretching and steaming the thread, especially if it looks like good grade thread. I use a beading thread......got some serious kinks in it, but when I pull on it, it straightens out quite nicely. it doesn't get fuzzy either.
  4. I've seen those cars....and your a tall person. yes folks......and that is why they call it a Ghia....it's what you utter, when you try getting in..... :D don't feel bad Sjors......I own an Isuzu.....it trying to find the hole at the bottom of my wallet!
  5. sherry....I'm slipping you would have thought I'd get the cue from Nil's post :D so much detail......I guess you could say I got lost in it's beauty
  6. she's looking really sweet! do you have a picture of the dolphins?
  7. they look pretty good.....I'd just seal them. gonna look great when the grain work pops out
  8. you'll be doing both jobs with it......I like to use it myself. I even use it to kill the shine on the Billing's paint. it also comes in a rattle can, if you prefer.
  9. don't say that word Sjors.....it's beautiful here at the moment! this lug here, already has his spring veggies in the ground!
  10. hey.......I smell something......wait a min.. *sniff...sniff* yes...unmistakable....sawdust! did we break ground yet Frank? I wanna see! :)
  11. perhaps this would be an opportune time to thing about the windlass and how the anchor chain is rigged. I was not satisfied with the routing on my Revell 1:96 Cutty build. the assembly calls for multiple pieces of chain. the way I've done it here, only requires two pieces of chain and your able to wrap it around the windlass in order to make it look more functional. http://cuttysarkdrydock.wordpress.com/2011/09/23/the-cutty-sark-windlass-revamp/ here you can also view the instruction sheets.....it may give you an idea
  12. sad to hear your gonna be shov'in off again.......but hey, it pays the bills looking forward to new adventures!
  13. I hope you have a high roof in your car, or we'll be hearing that famous Dutch word all the way over here
  14. that's correct........with the first plank running against the fore and aft bulwarks, the planks are going to run along the tops of the mid ship ribs. is that mahogany planking? if so, then you might want to give it a slight bend for the bow and stern. I've never used it, but I hear that it can be a brittle wood to use. at the bow, cut to the angle of the stem and a bevel so it will fit up snug against the stem and the rabbit.
  15. she's looking good! cameras are funny like that........I've taken pictures...even re-took them, because the angle didn't look right. nice job with the life boats.....canvas and tie downs are super. stella looking boat!
  16. you've done so much with the gun since I last saw it......it looks very good! all the detail really adds to the functionality.....wonderful....well done!
  17. all things in good time......you don't want to work on 'her majesty' when your tired she looks really good.....the decks match up nicely. once you get your 'court' in order, you can make a motion to continue
