perhaps this would be an opportune time to thing about the windlass and how the anchor chain is rigged. I was not satisfied with the routing on my Revell 1:96 Cutty build. the assembly calls for multiple pieces of chain. the way I've done it here, only requires two pieces of chain and your able to wrap it around the windlass in order to make it look more functional. http://cuttysarkdrydock.wordpress.com/2011/09/23/the-cutty-sark-windlass-revamp/ here you can also view the instruction sheets.....it may give you an idea

that's correct........with the first plank running against the fore and aft bulwarks, the planks are going to run along the tops of the mid ship ribs. is that mahogany planking? if so, then you might want to give it a slight bend for the bow and stern. I've never used it, but I hear that it can be a brittle wood to use. at the bow, cut to the angle of the stem and a bevel so it will fit up snug against the stem and the rabbit.

she's looking good! cameras are funny like that........I've taken pictures...even re-took them, because the angle didn't look right. nice job with the life boats.....canvas and tie downs are super. stella looking boat!

I have that problem as well Kats........I have a drafting table and a regular desk that I work on. I tend to favor the drafting table, because of it's height.......the desk, for when the ship is masted. I do have a minor problem with my back......but not as bad as yours. I find it better to stand than to sit. I look forward to the restart....bravo!

the faring is fun to me.....I usually have to do it in the garage or on the porch. I use a long sanding block that covers two or three ribs at a time......it makes a god awful noise. it goes away as the ribs become in sync with one another.......be sure your even all the way down to the keel. so to not have any gaps between the deck platform / bulwark mating, be sure the ribs are flush with the platforms. your doing great Dragzz

I could never wrap my head around planking them before cementing them together either Dragzz........you'll be able to blend the stern in better. very nice.........looking good! those are the bow rabbits

I think that this would be a job for your good logic....perhaps a slightly longer chain plate, so the lanyards can be properly placed.

I haven't read an instruction sheet yet, that has these dimensions.........however they are quick to point out that some experience in model ship construction is required. go figure
